i photographed a lovely wedding yesterday that really got me in the fall spirit. The decor, dresses and flowers really captured the beauty of the season. the weather, which is always a factor in alberta (hot or cold) only cooperated for a few hours but we were able to get the portraits done before the gale-force winds took over!
the river valley was beautiful as the trees have started to turn to their fall coloursthe bride was so photogenic - she has the perfect smile!
these ladies look like they are coming in for a group hug but they are really huddling to stay warm!!
in this shot, the umbrella was strictly a prop ... until it started to rain! check out the great cakes and the cake "topper" - shown here with the wedding rings congratulation kerry & joel! all the best to you both.September 27, 2009 in wedding | Permalink | Comments (0)
a quick update about the fall family mini sessions ... they are full for another year. the response was great and i thank all of you for getting in touch with me and being more than patient in waiting for my responses. so now all we do is wait ... and hope for more beautiful weather!
i did a shoot last week for Earth, Mom & Baby - a company started by one of my midwives, Noreen Walker, and her daughter Katherine. They offer some wonderful products for mom and baby and i was honoured that they asked me to help out. my baby boy even got to be a model for some of the shoot! Noreen's granddaughter was also a part of the shoot and she was a real beauty! here are some shots from the day and make sure you check out the website!this is one of their super soft bamboo/silk diapers
the panda pocket carrier (with baby tanner!) and the nursing top and then little M who wore her red dress, red dress, red dress .... (it's part of a Raffi song that has been in my head since the shoot!!) isn't she a sweetie!the last part of my post today is an add-on from the wedding on the weekend - i wanted to post a couple of shots with the little and not-so-little ones who were part of the wedding party - and whose mom introduced the couple to my work!
and then another shot that i just wanted to post! just thought i'd share ...

yesterday I was lucky enough to spend the day capturing photos of dana & trevor's beautiful wedding. the day perfect with only a few threatening clouds and the occasional gust of wind. the ceremony was held out in a park under a lovely giant tree and there is nothing I love more than an outdoor wedding.
the girls got ready at the bride's parent's place - a beautiful home and ideal for photos!
the bride was stunning - i know it sounds cliche - but it is true!
i loved this moment between mother and daughter
such a nice location and i love this tree
the ceremony was heart-felt and beautiful
this was a cute moment as the groom worked to get the ring on his bride!
we had some amazing photo locations - new favourites, for sure!
trevor was working the camera for this one! this is what i got when i asked the groom to stand in the doorway - it pays to be specific!!
he was much more in his element here!
did i mention that the bride was stunning? ... just checking!
the rest of the wedding party didn't look too bad either!

had a great day with this newlywed couple yesterday. their wedding day was beautiful and we couldn't have asked for better conditions - especially the slightly overcast skies that made shooting a breeze!

these two were married in sunny mexico last month and had their reception today in chilly alberta. however, the weather did cooperate to the extent that we were able to shoot outside - even though the wedding party were clearly dressed for warmer temperatures!

shot a gorgeous wedding on a surprisingly beautiful fall day yesterday. the ceremony was outside at a cabin and was an amazing location. the weather cooperated too by being a little bit sunny to keep everyone warm and a little bit cloudy to keep the photographer happy!!
